I have recently been commissioned by a luxury hotel in the stunning countryside of the Southern Lake District. They required hotel photography that would showcase the luxury offering they are providing for customers looking to stay in the Cartmel area. Cartmel has quickly become a destination of fine dining and accommodation with L’Enclume and other Michelin star restuarants raising the bar for fine dining in the North of England.

One of the most crucial elements of hotel photography is lighting, whether it’s natural light or carefully balanced artificial lighting. This is often the case with any interior photography and especially so with this shoot as it had to be done in January, when natural daylight is extremely limited. Blending flash lighting, often in multiple images, with daylight and the interior ambient lights is a real challenge for a hotel photographer. Most of these images were combinations of different types of lighting and took some time in post production to get the best result for my client. Often an unseen part of photography that takes as much time as the actual photography.
What sets a luxury hotel apart from others is its attention to detail, and my goal was to reflect this in every photograph. Luxury hotel photography isn’t just about showing off the space; it’s about conveying the experience. I took time to capture moments that make staying at the hotel feel like it can offer that sense of escape.
An aspect that Aynsome Manor have identified is that many visitors to the Lake District love to bring their dogs with them. Dog lovers will be delighted to hear that Aynsome Manor caters for all things canine and have an area dedicated to dog lovers with a series of rooms specially for them. They also have a dog washing area and a dog lounge where your four legged friend can lie down by a log fire and warm up after a day walking through the countryside of the Southern Lakes.
